#230 - POLAND - skrana

A card from my favourites! Thank you very much - skrana!
I love squirrels and i think the English name absolutely represents the art of this animal... Eichhörnchen (in German) is the most boring word i've ever heard! :)

#224 - POLAND - goosik

received this wonderful card during the last few days! Yes my Recived but not registered box is full! OMG! Had a lot to do this evening, while my bf is on the vine trade fair. You need to know: He's originally from the southwetsern part from Switzerland (where all the big mountains are) calling Kanton Wallis. It's not a myth! i can tell you - they drink with a good sip! So it's totally normaly that he is ther on this trade fair, where you can degustate vine for free. I myself don't drink any alcohol, so whats better than stay at home with my beloved cards! :)
But back to the main theme!

The card was sent by Goosik who's living in Poland, not where the card is from but she brought it from her vacations.
It shows the famous Morze Battyckie and when i can remember right i once get quite a similar card from this region.

Look at this beautiful Multiview from Siedlce in Poland. Even i'm nt a big fan of multiviews - this one is really nice!
According to the legend, the origin of Siedlce is owed to Queen Bona, who travelling with her knighthood, stopped to rest and decided that the area was a good place to settle. King Zygmunt Stary granted his wife's desire and ordered to village be establish a village in that place whitch was to be called Siedlce.

#190 - POLAND - redka

A great colorful card from redka who lives in Poznan itself.
Poznań is one of the oldest and largest cities in Poland. It is the historical capital of the Wielkopolska Region, where the Polish State was born 1000 years ago. The origins of the city date back to the 9th century, when a castle - town, the seat of one of the ruling Duke's, was established in Ostrów Tumski on the right bank of the Warta River in the flood basin of the Warta and Cybina Rivers. Soon it was surrounded by the beginnings of a municipal settlement.

Poznań (...) with its tall houses and spacious market square has charm aplenty". These were the words Rev. Benedykt Chmielowski used over 250 years ago to describe the capital of Wielkopolska in the oldest Polish encyclopaedia. And though today there are taller buildings and larger open spaces in the city, the Old Market Square remains the source of great pride for Poznanians and an object of admiration for numerous visitors.
Marked out in 1253, when the city of Poznań was chartered, the market square has been the centre of community life for centuries. It was in the town hall that the city councils took decisions about local affairs. And it was in the market square that the most prominent citizens lived and trade deals were negotiated to bring economic prosperity to the city. http://www.poznan.pl

A nice AirView over the Old Town Market and Old Gothic Town Hall from the 14Jh.

Listed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites since 1997, Toruń has many monuments of architecture beginning from the Middle Ages, including 200 military structures. The city is famous for having preserved almost intact its medieval spatial layout and many Gothic buildings, all built from brick, including monumental churches, the Town Hall and many burgher houses. The Old Town Hall, begun in 1274, extended and rebuilt between 1391 and 1399, and extended at the end of the 16th century; one of the most monumental town halls in Central Europe copied from wikipedia

I'm a IKEA-holi, yes i am. :) Everytime i walk directly to the paper and organizing edge to see if they published some new cards. But i always shy away from their card cos i thought, who will love to get some nonviewcards besides me? Well i know i got such a nice card - did you know that i've planed for my thesis work in Art to document the history from the housenumbers in Bern. Strange Idea, i know - i've then photographed every single little object in my flat, everything which is mine! the title was mine, mine, mine. i've putted more than 3000 pics together - a hard work!
